The symbol,
layer by layer.
The three layers of the ROOTKey platform symbol are the three components of its technology.
- Layer 1Independent public registryEvery version gets a unique fingerprint, sealed with a timestamp.
- Layer 2CryptographySHA-256 fingerprints, encrypted vaults and cryptographically anchored records.
- Layer 3Pixel- and cell-level comparisonCompares the file with its sealed original and shows only what was altered.

Frequently asked questions
Questions about
the platform
How does ROOTKey detect a change?
ROOTKey continuously compares your data with the sealed record, so any change is caught and explained: what, who, when and where. Every version of every file, table or record gets a unique SHA-256 fingerprint, sealed in an independent public registry with a timestamp. A detected change shows the row, cell or field before and after, the user, account or integration behind it, and the system, repository or table.
What can ROOTKey protect?
ROOTKey protects files, tables and databases, including PDF, images, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. It connects through direct connectors to SharePoint, OneDrive, Amazon S3 and Cloudflare R2, and through a documented REST API with webhooks to every other system. Integration partners connect the systems where your data is created, such as your ERP or CRM.
How does restore work?
ROOTKey restores the last version proven valid, down to one file or one row - not a backup that may be compromised. Only what was altered returns to the sealed original, cryptographically verified, and every backup is independently verified for integrity before any recovery operation begins. One-click recovery restores the exact state of your data, from any snapshot, in under 4 hours.
Can an auditor verify a proof without access to our systems?
Yes: every critical action produces an independent proof that external auditors can verify without access to the original data. Each version's fingerprint is sealed in an independent public registry, and anyone can check compliance reports issued through ROOTKey on the public verification portal.
